Clovis Unified's 2021-22 school year was officially opened by the ringing of the bell at the Jefferson Elementary Bell Ringing Ceremony Aug. 16.
Jefferson Elementary is the site of first CUSD Superintendent Dr. Floyd Buchanan's office when the district unified in 1960. The bell is from the original school house, and this is the 137th anniversary of the ceremony.
